MXeval can be directly downloaded from the MdynamiX Download Center.

Please always download the latest release with the latest feature updates and bugfixes.



GUI Installation



Please follow the instructions of the GUI installer to install MXeval successfully with all its dependencies.


Command Line Installation

MXeval can also be installed remotely on client PCs by calling the installer executable from the command line


Automatic installation with GUI feedback

mxeval-setup.exe /silent


Automatic installation without GUI feedback

mxeval-setup.exe /verysilent 


The installation content can be customized using the /task parameter. The following tasks can be selected (separate with comma)

  • dongledriver: install the USB dongle drivers (required for USB dongle licensing)
  • desktopicon: create desktop icon

If not specified, all tasks will be selected by default.


e.g. 

mxeval-setup.exe /verysilent /tasks="dongledriver"

will only install MXeval with the dongle driver but without the desktop icon. 


Licensing Hardware Information

MXhostid can be used to read out the required hardware information for the client pc, usb dongle or licensing server, which can be directly downloaded from the MdynamiX Download Center.

The output of MXhostid is required to create the MXeval license file.




Please provide the output of MXhostid to the MdynamiX licensing department in order to receive a valid license file.


Licensing System

The licensing system of the MdynamiX License, which is used in all MXeval versions, is based on FlexNet Licensing from FLEXERA SOFTWARE.

The MdynamiX license is available as a node locked, network floating or USB dongle license.



Node locked license

Node locked licenses are linked with a computers physical host ID. Therefore it can only be used at one specified computer. 

To activate the node locked license, click "Specify the License File" in the FlexNet License Finder, which shows up at the first startup of MXeval. 

Then select you .lic file (which is provided by MdynamiX). Please make sure, that this license file is located at a secure location, because is you delete or move it, you have to reselect the license file again.

Network floating license

Network floating licenses are linked to a specific network server. A user can checkout a license from the server for a specific amount of time. That makes it possible to also use the license for multiple users.

A FlexNet license server has to be running (local or network).  To connect to a running server, enter the server's computer name after selecting "Specify the License Server System" in the FlexNet License Finder.

Every time you start MXeval, the licensing system will try to check out an available MXeval license from the license server.

USB dongle license

Dongle licenses are smilar to node locked licenses, but they are linked with a special USB dongles host ID. Therefore it can be used at any computer who is in charge of the USB dongle. The dongle has a corresponding license file which is also required.

To activate the node dongle license, click "Specify the License File" in the FlexNet License Finder, which shows up at the first startup of MXeval. 

Then select you .lic file (which is provided by MdynamiX). Please make sure, that this license file is located at a secure location, because is you delete or move it, you have to again reselect the license file.

To use a USB dongle license, the required hardware drivers must be installed. Those will be provided during the product installation or in the MXlicensing tools.


A valid license file is required at each program startup, not for the installation process!

Try to avoid non UTF-8 characters (ä,ü,ö,..) in your license path!
This may cause the license check to fail because of encoding issues with the license path.


Reset License Check

If you have problems with already selected licenses or if you want to reselect your license, you can clear the specific entry in your registry. 

Therefore, open the "regedit.exe" from your Windows OS, go to “HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > FLEXlm License Manager” and clear the value of the entry “MDYNAMIX_LICENSE_FILE” or run the following windows command:


reg add "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\FLEXlm License Manager" /v MDYNAMIX_LICENSE_FILE /t REG_SZ /d "" /f


This will withdraw the link to all previous selected licenses. If you somehow have any further problems with the licensing, please contact licensing@mdynamix.de.

The FLEXERA license diagnose tools and other licensing relevant tools and documents are provided in the <INSTALLDIR>\res\licensing\MXlicensing_win_64bit directory.
